Under the Rendering rollout of our new spline shape check both Enable in Renderer and Enable in Viewport and then increase the Thickness amount under the Radial radio button until the frame of our bench has a natural look.

In the Front Viewport create a Plane that will match the width and height of the bench back. Then move and rotate it until it's placed in the right position.

Change the Plane's Length Segs to 12 and Width Segs to 4, then convert it to an Editable Poly.
