In the Perspective View hold Shift and move the line on the x axis to create a clone. The distance between the two lines should match the width of the bench.

Convert both lines into Editable Splines. Then select one of them, hit Attach and click the other one. Right-click once to exit the attach mode.

Set the Snaps to Vertex in the Grid and Snap Settings dialog. This can be opened by right-clicking the snap buttons.
